Not a lap suit at all!, August 2, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Speedo Womens Xtra Life Lycra Aquatic Piped Empire Swimsuit (Apparel) I was really disappointed with this suit. It's pretty and seemed to fit really nicely, but it's definitely not a good lap suit, though it's advertised as one. The low front, plus water, plus surfacing or flipping equaled a serious wardrobe malfunction, and I spent the entire swim practice tucking myself back in, red-faced. Unless your plan is to flash everyone in the pool, don't get this suit for laps! I wouldn't wear it to the beach or to lounge in, so it's pretty much useless and I'll never use it again.

I just used today for the first time, and immediately noticed that there was more water in the chest area than usual and did not feel as hydrodynamic on my first lap. I am large busted and usually wear Speedos that come up higher for lap swimming, but thought this cut may be more attractive and less uni-boob.
That said, I was in complete shock to realize that my ENTIRE chest had completely come out of the suit top when swimming at a normal speed. When dry, the suit fits really well... When wet, you put on a show for all to see. Ironically, as slow breaststroke may be your only option for laps in this one!

I have to pull up the front every few laps and before I get out of the water! I love the suit otherwise as it's a little different than the average one piece. I'd say a higher neck line would alleviate my problem. Sizes run small but it may just be the style of the suit- it's got all kinds of tummy support and therefore more elastic! Definitely a plus!
